Which container prefixes belong to PIL?+
PIL uses PCIU, PILU, PIDU, HPCU. Leased containers (for example TGHU, TCNU, SEGU or CAIU) can also travel on PIL, so the line on your B/L is what counts.

What do the PIL tracking statuses mean?+
Typical milestones are gate-in (the box entered the load port), loaded on vessel, vessel departure, transhipment, discharge at the destination port and gate-out. In India the box may then move to a CFS or by rail to an ICD before customs clearance.
