SEA–AIR · AIR–SEA · MULTIMODAL

Faster than sea. Cheaper than air.

Part of the journey by ocean, the rest by air, or the other way round. Your cargo sails to a hub such as Dubai or Colombo and flies on from there, so it arrives in days rather than weeks, for much less than flying all the way. Ideal for landlocked countries and for shipments that can't wait for the ship but don't need the plane all the way.

Modes: Sea + air in one shipmentDirections: Sea–air and air–seaTypical hubs: Dubai · Colombo · SingaporeBest for: Landlocked & time-sensitive
SEE IT IN MOTION

India to a landlocked capital in under two weeks.

An example bridge to Bangui, Central African Republic: the container sails from Nhava Sheva to Djibouti, transfers to the airport, and flies on to Bangui. No slow sailing round to West Africa and no 1,400 km road haul inland.

Illustrative routing and transit times. Air legs may connect via Addis Ababa; we quote every lane individually.

WHY A BRIDGE

The middle way between ship and plane.

COST Cheaper than all-air Most of the distance goes by sea, so you pay air rates only for the short final leg.
SPEED Faster than all-sea No waiting for a slow ocean rotation to a far port: the cargo flies the last stretch.
LANDLOCKED Inland capitals Reach countries with no seaport, such as Afghanistan, Central Asia, Nepal or East and Southern Africa, by flying straight into the capital.
PEAKS Around air capacity squeezes When direct flights are full or expensive, a sea leg to a hub frees up options.
ONE DOCUMENT Through paperwork One booking, transhipment at the hub handled for you, and a single point of contact end to end.
CUSTOMS Cleared by a licensed broker Export clearance in India under our own licence, and import clearance in India for inbound bridges.
HOW THE BRIDGE WORKS

Sea to a hub, air to the door (or the other way).

We pick the hub that gives the best balance of sailing time, flight connections and cost for your destination.

01 Sea leg Nhava Sheva or Mundra to a hub port such as Jebel Ali (Dubai), Colombo or Singapore.
02 Hub transfer Cargo moves from port to airport under customs control, with no import into the hub country.
03 Air leg Flown on to the final airport, often a landlocked capital or a city with poor sea links.
⇄ Or reversed Air–sea: fly into a hub first, then on by sea, when the first leg is the urgent one.

Routings, transit times and savings depend on the lane, season and carrier. We quote each route individually.

HOW IT WORKS

From enquiry to delivery.

1 Tell us Cargo, weight, volume, origin and final destination.
2 Route options We compare all-sea, all-air and air–sea routings with time and cost.
3 Book Ocean and air legs booked to connect at the hub.
4 Clear Export clearance in India under our licence.
5 Transfer Port-to-airport transfer and re-documentation at the hub.
6 Deliver Flown to destination and delivered or handed to your agent.

Air–sea bridge questions

What is an air–sea or sea–air shipment?+

A single shipment that uses both modes: part of the distance by ocean and the rest by air. Sea–air (sea first) is the most common; air–sea is used when the first leg is the urgent one.

How much cheaper and faster is it?+

It is usually much cheaper than flying the whole way and much faster than shipping the whole way. The exact saving depends on the lane, so we show you the all-sea, all-air and bridge options side by side before you decide.

Which countries is it good for?+

Landlocked countries reached through their capital airport, such as Afghanistan, Central Asia, Nepal, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Malawi or Paraguay, and destinations with slow or infrequent sailings from India.

What cargo suits an air–sea bridge?+

Goods that are too urgent or valuable for an all-sea transit but too heavy or bulky to justify all-air: spare parts, garments, electronics, machinery components and project parts that fit on aircraft pallets.

Do you handle the customs side?+

Yes. We clear the export in India under our own customs broker licence, manage the transhipment documents at the hub, and coordinate import clearance at destination with our partners.

Too urgent for the ship? Bridge it.
